THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING.

Faux News can't help itself.  They've stepped in it AGAIN. Faux bloviator Juan Williams was caught cheating.  He did a little plagiarizing in a column he wrote.  This was the second Faux plagiarism scandal of the past week.  Add that to Bill O'Reilly's calling a guest a liar because the guest insisted on using FACTS (something of a dirty word at Faux) and it was a typical week at the least trusted "news" outlet in the country.

Four years ago, as a newly elected president began his efforts to rescue the economy and strengthen the social safety net, conservative economic pundits — people who claimed to understand markets and know how to satisfy them — warned of imminent financial disaster. Stocks, they declared, would plunge, while interest rates would soar.

Even a casual trawl through the headlines of the time turns up one dire pronouncement after another. “Obama’s radicalism is killing the Dow,” warned an op-ed article by Michael Boskin, an economic adviser to both Presidents Bush. “The disciplinarians of U.S. policy makers return,” declared The Wall Street Journal, warning that the “bond vigilantes” would soon push Treasury yields to destructive heights.

Sure enough, this week the Dow Jones industrial average has been hitting all-time highs, while the current yield on 10-year U.S. government bonds is roughly half what it was when The Journal published that screed.

That quote is from Nobel Prize winner economist Paul Krugman, columnist for The New York Times.  The DOW has been in record territory recently as the right-wing economic geniuses who advised both Bushes or wrote for The Wall Street Journal DIDN'T predict.  They and others, like the morons on Faux Business, said Obama's policies would DESTROY THE ECONOMY.

THE SKY IS FALLING THE SKY IS FALLING.

It's the same noise we get about Obama-care. Before the election the Republicants were SCREAMING how Obama-care was going to be a disaster.  Today, more and more Republicant governors are signing their states on to Obama's Medicaid fix.  That list includes Kasich … of OHIO, who, of course, was a-gain before he was a-fore it.   Some flat earthers are teachable, others are not.

In other gun news: A recent poll found that a Democrat who supported universal background checks running against a Republicant who didn't would win by a 24 point margin.
The same poll found that a Democrat who supported high-volume clip bans running against a Republicant who didn't would win by a 14 point margin.
And finally, the same poll found that a Democrat who supported an assault weapons ban running against a Republicant who didn't would win by a 15 point margin.
The conclusion: being in the pocket of the gun and ammo lobby ain't what it used to be, particularly as gun ownership is at an all time low.
